Riddell has a long history of innovation and often builds on the strengths of technologies. The goal was to design a helmet with fully-integrated components and innovations for peak athlete performance and state-of-the-art protection. Backed by extensive research, including Riddell's 2+ million data points of on-field impacts. The SpeedFlex uses elements from both the Riddell Speed and the Riddell 360, but almost every component in the SpeedFlex is new.

Flexibility engineered into the helmet’s shell, face mask and face mask attachment system with hinge clips reduces impact force transfer to the athlete.
Strategic combination of padding materials inside of the helmet absorb impact energy and retain their position and purpose over extended durations of play.
Facemask attachment hardware, precision-milled from stainless steel. Disengages with a simple press of a button.
Interior liner that conforms to the shape of a player’s head as well as fits the contours of the helmet shell for improved comfort and fit.
Side Impact Protection is research-based, mandible protection that helps reduce the forces from side impacts.
A ratchet-style chinstrap attachment system.
